Feedback Policy. Is your policy beneficial to the students of current batch ?

Have you ever given stakeholders’ feedback the much needed importance it deserves to improve your systems ? Hope you’re not considering it as one more process, a binding on you to simply tick-mark it.

If genuinely sensitised then how do I find 90% of the HEIs only recording Semester-end Students Feedback and NOT Mid-Semester Feedback?

Have these 90% ever realised that if they capture only Sem-end feedback on curriculum, syllabus and teaching learning efficiency, they had done disservice to their students of the current batch who are giving the feedback ? Did they realise that it would never benefit them ? Did they feel how frustrated would their students feel if the feedback by them turned redundant as their concerns on all the semester courses were never addressed ? Do they understand that the courses on which we ask students feedback, would perhaps never be seen by all passing students in their lifetime ? It is not that important to students that the next batch would stand to gain out of their current feedback.

This is how important stays the Mid Semester Feedback and the need for a prompt action-taken. Hence your feedback policy must lay down a relevant process, accordingly. I have been talking about it for the past many years but most of the HEIs I visit, simply don’t listen. Feedback is a process managed by Departments-not by IQAC. IQAC sets policy. I had even shared a sample policy written by me but who has the time ? 50% perhaps don’t read in between the lines.

If you are not convinced by the policy I wrote; absolutely fine. Make your own, but make one that has holistic components which include, the relevant questions on the specific Semester courses, analysis, action taken at each level, and the protocols. Idea is to have one comprehensive policy for all stakeholders feedback. Please note that you will be required to develop your own feedback questions as relevant to your courses and programs

May take this policy as a guidelines and draft your own👇🏽This will help you in NAAC. I think this last one line is so much better understood by the IQAC 😁
